Who can apply for a ‘K’ visa?
;The ‘K’ class visa is an “alien fiance(e)” visa, which is a non-immigrant visa. A US citizen who wishes to marry a foreigner may file a ‘K’ class petition (I129F) which, when granted, allows the foreigner to enter the US and marry within 90 days of arrival. Once married, the foreigner should file for conditional permanent residence. K1 is for direct fiance(e), K2 – for children of fiance(e). Two additional ‘K’ visas exist: K-3 visa is for the spouse of a US citizen, K-4 visas are issued to children of a K-3 visa holder.
